Refund & Cancellation Policy

v1.0 · Effective 2026-08-22

How cancellation, downgrades, refunds, and data deletion work for Gritticon subscriptions — four different acts, each defined.

1. Where this policy applies

This policy covers subscriptions to Gritticon services (Gritticon SMS and Shop OS) purchased from Gritticon Technologies Private Limited. It is published so that it is reachable before you pay, not only after.

It does not cover purchases you make from a merchant’s storefront powered by Shop OS — those are governed by that merchant’s own refund policy, published on their storefront. Gritticon is the technology provider, not the seller, in those transactions.

2. Four different acts, defined — and one that does not apply

  • Cancellation — stops your subscription from renewing. Your access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for. Cancelling costs nothing.
  • Downgrade — moves you to a smaller plan from the next billing period.
  • Refund — returns money already paid, in the cases in section 4.
  • Return — not applicable. We ship nothing physical; see section 5.
  • Data deletion — a separate act with its own timeline, described in the Terms & Conditions (30-day export window, then deletion). Cancelling does not by itself delete your data, so you cannot lose records by cancelling.

3. Cancelling

You can cancel in-product from your billing settings, in no more steps than subscribing took, or by writing to info@gritticon.com. We confirm every cancellation by email. There is no cancellation charge.

For recurring payments under an RBI e-mandate: you receive a pre-debit notification at least 24 hours before each charge, and you may cancel the mandate itself at any time, without fee.

We never convert a free trial or pilot into a paid plan silently. Before any first charge you will have been shown the amount and the date and have affirmatively accepted them.

4. When we refund

Fees are refundable in these cases:

  • Sustained unavailability — where the Service was unavailable, due to us, beyond reasonable levels for the period, you may choose service credits or a pro-rata refund for the affected period.
  • Annual plans — if you cancel an annual subscription within the first 30 days of its start or renewal, we refund the unused months pro-rata. For self-employed and consumer purchasers this route is always open; for business customers it applies unless your order states otherwise.
  • Billing error — anything we charged in error is refunded in full.
  • Where law requires — any refund a statute or regulator entitles you to.
  • Discretion — we may refund in other cases where it is the fair outcome; declining a discretionary refund never removes the routes above.

We do not operate a blanket “no refunds” rule, and nothing in this policy limits remedies available to a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

5. Returns and exchanges

Gritticon sells software subscriptions delivered online. Nothing physical ships from us, so there is no product to return, no return window to count, and no return shipping for anyone to pay. Return and exchange terms of the kind that apply to goods do not apply to what we sell.

What replaces them is section 3 and section 4 of this policy: cancel at any time to stop future renewals, and claim a refund in the cases section 4 lists. If a subscription is not what you were led to expect, write to info@gritticon.com or use the Grievance Redressal page — we would rather fix it or refund it than argue about which word applies.

Goods bought from a merchant’s storefront powered by Shop OS are a different matter entirely: the merchant is the seller, and their return policy — published on their own storefront as the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 require — governs that purchase.

6. How refunds are paid

Refunds go back to the original payment instrument within 7 business days of approval. The amount refunded is the amount stated — we do not net out deductions that were not disclosed before purchase. GST on refunded amounts is adjusted by credit note as the GST law provides.

7. Disputes and chargebacks

If a charge looks wrong, the fastest route is info@gritticon.com or the Grievance Redressal page — acknowledgement within 24 hours. Disputing a charge with your bank is your right and is not treated as a breach of your agreement with us.

8. Changes

Changes to this policy follow the same mechanics as the Terms: 30 days’ notice, versioned, prior versions reachable. The version in force when you paid governs that payment.

Prior versions of every legal document remain reachable from the Legal versions page. Questions or complaints: see Grievance Redressal.
