What merchants ask first.
Do I need a website, a domain, or a payment gateway to start?
None of them. You get a live storefront link the moment you publish, and cash on delivery works immediately with no payment setup at all. Online payments are something you add later, when the order volume makes the paperwork worth it.
Is Shop OS a marketplace? Will you take a cut of my orders?
It is not a marketplace and we do not sit between you and your customer. Your link, your audience, your orders. We are not solving discovery for you — you already have the customers, which is exactly the point.
Do my customers have to create an account or install an app?
No. Your storefront opens in a browser, needs no account, and no app. It is built to load fast on patchy mobile data, because that is where your customer actually is when they see your Reel.
Is there AI in front of my customers?
Never. There is no chatbot, no AI assistant, and no pop-up anywhere in the buying path. The assistant that helps you manage your catalog lives on your side of the counter only, and every consequential change it proposes is shown to you and applied only when you confirm.
What if I do not want to use the AI assistant at all?
Then do not. Everything the assistant can do, the dashboard can do by hand. You are never dependent on it to run your business.
